A trip to Stanley

Stanley is town located in Tasmania  north-west coast and a great “home base” to explore the west coast and inland National Parks.

We visited the west coast after a extreme low pressure system giving us the opportunity to see the sea at it best.

Also, at Stanley we went to the top of “The Nut”to appreciate the views of the valley.

Here are some photos from the top of The Nut.

And here are some photos of the west coast

The Job

We stripped the outside paint, removed all windows and resealed them using Sikaflex marine, restored the four seasons hatch, replaced the full running gear ( axle, brakes and tyres) resealed the J rails and roof seams and painted with premier plus 4 coats of paint.

Inside we removed the old vinyl floor and replaced it after giving a good coat of decking oil to the plywood floor.

The cabinet doors were replaced with marine plywood. All the interior was painted. Beds restored and new matters bought.

The end result

We have a project

We was looking for a vintage caravan to restore and use it on our camping trips in Tasmania and we found a 1977 Franklin Arrow which is a nice “canvas” for the project.

It need a lot of work, inside and out but nothing that we cannot do.
